| *** Introducing Mandarin and Japanese in Fall 2008 *** Classes in French, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese and SIGN with your BABY® Fall classes begin the week of September 15th The mission of Polly-Glot Tots™ is: To provide engaging and affordable language immersion classes for babies through preschoolers and to foster a community that helps families bring language and culture into their homes. Founded in 2007, by a mom with a dream of bringing the wonder of her multi-lingual upbringing to other children, Polly-Glot Tots offers: - Foreign language immersion classes for children ages 18 months to 5 years and their parent/caregiver. Classes meet weekly for 10 weeks ($195).
- SIGN with your BABY classes® using American Sign Language (ASL) for babies and their parent/caregiver. Classes meet weekly for 6 weeks ($150).
We strongly believe in the value of early language education. Research shows that: - Babies can communicate nonverbally within a few weeks of birth, even though they may not begin to speak until about the age of two.
- The prime time for language learning is between the ages of 6 months and 6 years when the brain is still forming neural pathways and can process a wider range of tones and sounds.
- Learning a foreign language improves verbal and listening skills as well as analytical and math skills.
- Children who learn a foreign language are more likely to continue learning it into adulthood.
- Bilingual and trilingual adults (aka polyglots) have more career opportunities.
- The ability to communicate with people from another culture - for business or pleasure - is simply enjoyable.
